New Tech Priests

So quick update for you.

I needed to add a couple of supporting tech priests to my mechanicum force and the option is the new Ad Mech priest - who is massive and £22 for a model (yes Nathan - £22)

So I surfed eBay for a Titan tech priest and have converted a metal tech priest figure Fark gave me about 400 years ago.  He had lost the weapon for the figure [Editor: not lost, in same bag as limited edition Orc and Undead Standard bearer I gave him in 2006.... And are MoSoH - missing on shelves of holding ]

So I have added the hammer from Cortez and a plastic hand from the Skitarii Rangers sprue.  The end results are 

I have also finished converting and starting spraying my Draykavac.  I was never happy with the FW design of an altar on metal worms.  I saw an eBay auction where the guy had converted it into the chassis of an imager dune crawler and the firework went off - and I am not embarrassed to admit that I copied it.

Still WiP, but I think it looks good so far.  He is on blutack at the moment and will be on the pulpit once it is all painted. 

 

 

Batch paint a go go!

Well I had been working on just thirty marines in one batch but the delay, whilst I waited for some Micro Sol to arrive, meant that i ended up getting another twenty painted up to the same stage before I realised.

No choice. Had to weather, gloss varnish and then matt varnish all fifty at once. Just basing to go then i can move onto .......oh....more infantry.

I tried to be subtle with the damage and wear on the armour and overall I'm pretty pleased with how they have turned out.

Mech-Air

So I am getting a buzz out of painting again, especially the big models.

With the purchase of my spray booth I am looking forward to doing more large projects.

So this little beauty is part of my expanding mechanicum and skitarii forces and will work equally well in 30k and 40k...

Just a quick post.  These take about 20 mins to paint once undercoated.  I love them and need more ;)

So after finishing Peggy the knight, I had some tidying up to do and reorganisation of my paint area... Anyway I thought I would show you the result of this tidying for your comment....

Let alone when you look there and see that is roughly £540 of cases alone.... Wow! Never thought of that before!  

 

my second knight

So after much dithering I assembled and painted My second knight.  It shall be known as Peggy.  Clearly not because it has no legs (my mums name was Peggy and she was dificient in the lower limbs department), no it is due to the idea from Eddie to put a solid back on the crap unfinished shield FW give you... The pic explains Peggy!!!

As always this is painted in the colours of house Makabius with some DG iconography dotted around

New Trophy

So, as the current holder of the Gog-brero has won it three times he gets to hold on to it forever.  We expect that to be a family heirloom and passed down the Morton tree.

So to replace it, let me introduce you to General Crafty Fox.
