The Flames of War rise ever higher!

Well, with the new Eastern Front book on the way from Battlefront, I decided that it was about time that I got my Soviets in some kind of order. I had previously stuck the little chaps from the infantry companies on their bases, put filler on the bases and sprayed them an appropriate colour (black for the navy, brown for the army). I then put them away in a box as something else
shiny caught my eye and I moved onto that....

So, I've attached photos of the first couple of painted companies (there are so many of the little blighters that they don't have platoons - smallest org is the company!), which are the navy and the first army one. I've also attached a picture of the T-34 workshop that is my garage and the next two companies that also need painting.

I've used the new "Russian Green" spray from battlefront, which they assure me has been meticulously researched to be the appropriate colour, but it looks very olive to me and not as bright as I had though Russian tanks were.... Still, guess I need to be careful not to fall into the "but the epaulettes on that unit are totally the wrong shade of blue!" trap with historical wargaming and trust the experts!
So, slight diversion for me onto 40k for a couple of weeks and then I'll be back to carry on with this little lot. And the Katyushas. And the anti-tank rifles. And the flamethrowers. And.....

I hope those Navy boys don't have machine guns, we all know how bloody lethal they can be once they start shooting.
