ORKY RETRIBUTION

Well the bad weather certainly had some positive results, namely the fact that Silverback managed to get snowed in at my battle bunker (garage) resulting in gaming madness for two days! Lots of battles against my Chaos Marine Black Legion and then the loan of my budding Eldar to him for a sound thrashing of me again!! (So that wasn't so good!)
The first game was against an Ork force containing the following...or close to it!
(Here's a snap of the Bikers about to deliver the end result to a squad of my Black Legion!)

Warboss on Bike, 6 biker Nobs and a painboy on a bike, plus "Samantha" the grot orderly!

Warboss, Painboy and 18 Nobz (There are seven variants in this squad all with 2 wounds, feel no pain and a 5+ invulnerable save) in a Battle Wagon, seen here shortly after having the Battle Wagon destroyed the remaining Nobz...huh who am I kidding...the whole starting force of Nobz about to deliver retribution to the poor unfortunate Marines that had the audacity to piss them off by shooting at them again!! Boy were they mad!!

Snikrot and 10 Kommandos (inc Big Shooter and Burna), sneaking on to the back deployment lines, about to do my Obliterators...shortly after they were killed to an Ork by a flame wielding Obliterator hiding in the adjacent building!

Zagstrut and 10 Stormboyz! Just as they deep strike behind my best, the resulting melee established that these weren't my best but just their stand ins.....oh well!
The only other unit was a 3 Kopta Deff squadron, including a mega-blasta! There was some debate as to the value of this unit, as they tend to just come on and then get one shot before being gunned down, however they made it in to the second battle, while the Kommandos didn;t and were replaced by a Killa Kan and a unit of 11 boyz with a Trukk, inc Big shoota and a Nob with a Power Klaw!

Over the two battles I have to say that the Orks were just impossible to stop, all thise wounds and so many variants in the various units, it was a master stroke by the Silverback!

Not sure how it would do against a mobile army, such as Eldar or an all out battle cannon Imp. Guard tank force though!

They wiped the floor with my army though!

The third game was with the Eldar, Silverback hadn't used an Eldar force before and decided to include an Avatar which he had just painted for me, with a Wraithlord amongst a host of other nastiness! Not many photos of this unfortunately so suffice it to say, he won this one as well, bloody bright lances!!!
Great fun and a very worthwhile lesson for me in preparation for the Tournie season!
Off to the Doubles in Lenton, GW HQ over the weekend, more on that later!

They are pretty nasty mate! Can one use the word pretty with Ork in the same sentence?
